Sputnik — Spike in US Intel Ops Against Russia Signals Relations at 'Point of No Return'

The die is cast. Cold War 2.0 is on and so is the new arms race. The Deep State (representing the military-intelligence-industrial-energy-financial complex through the revolving door) gets its way.

And don't be fooled by the term "intelligence." There is virtually no distinction in the US deep state between espionage and operations, and the bulk of US "intelligence" is related to operations as paramilitary.
In this situation, Russia's response is simple, according to the analyst. Russia's counterintelligence services must counter US attempts to obtain sensitive information, and keep an eye on would-be US agents seeking to destabilize the country. Most importantly, Alexandrov noted, Russia must understand "that US intelligence services do not only collect information, but also carry out operations, including political operations, to undermine statehood. Factually, US intelligence is a tool of hybrid warfare; that cannot ever be discounted.

"military-intelligence-industrial-energy-financial complex"

Tom this is like 99% of what we do.... what is the remaining complex?

Tech and pharma-healthcare are the other industries not in that complex, although tech is worming its way in because the military and intelligence are now high tech with attention turning to cyber-warfare. The media serve the complex.

Agribusiness operates more through the state governments. Domestic manufacturing is chiefly interested in controlling labor relations and regulation through lobbying.

However, all aspects of US industry are somewhat involved in the revolving door as well as campaign finance and lobbying.

The rest are the rentiers that clip the coupons and the debt slaves, especially to FIRE. In addition to paying the economic rent the debt slaves do the work and pay the taxes.

I think tech is more appropriate than energy. They need hegemony to promote their conception of intellectual property in law globally, they sell to the military and spy for the military in exchange for protection of their rackets. Education provides the indoctrination of the population in exchange for revolving door access and subsidy.
