Classic projection. That's the Zomberican way.

Yeah, but even Noam the Great ( & I think he is great) should not be taken on faith. Some of what he says about the WWII era - the actions during the era of FDR - someone even greater - are nonsense. They're pretty clearly the result of Chomsky's in his youth reading some flaky fringe leftist groups & much unrealistic press coverage and never anything more reasonable. What is most interesting is that it shows how left the USA was back then, with prominent kooks and kookiness comparable to the Birthers ranting about Obama, etc. Thank God that there were many grown-ups in charge back then, not people who were more concerned with their ideology and personal moral purity than the effects of their actions on many millions.

In the real world, the USA, the allies had nothing to do with the fascist Marshall Badoglio assuming power in Italy. One could even idly speculate that what was unfortunate was that it didn't. If there had been a plan or conspiracy or puppeteering, Allied landings near Rome would have completely trapped large German armies in the south. Kesselring, the German commander understood that perfectly well and after all the scorched earth fighting there, abandoned Southern Italy with great speed. By the time the Allies were sure that Badoglio was real, and cooperation with him got Stalin's OK, which the allies were carefull to get, the brief opportunity had vanished.

Calgacus,I used to be a great believer in Chomsky until I found out the truth about the man. After that I threw out over ten of his books and I have never read or listened to him since. Go to youtube and check out a few of the videos about Chomsky the gatekeeper. I suggest that you investigate Chomsky further.
