Chris Ladd — Unspeakable Realities Block Universal Health Coverage In The US

We may one day recognize that we are all “in it together” and find ways to build a more stable, sensible welfare system. That will not happen unless we acknowledge the painful and sometimes embarrassing legacy that brought us to this place. Absent that reckoning, unspoken realities will continue to warp our political calculations, frustrating our best hopes and stunting our potential.

Speaking of "white socialism", "redlining" precluded many non-whites from access to what is, in essence*, the PUBLIC'S CREDIT but for private gain.

"Redlining" is now illegal so richer, more so-called "creditworthy" non-whites can now loot the poorer same as whites do.

*Because of extensive privileges for depository/lending institutions.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. If it doesn't work, fix it. If that means breaking it for a minority that benefit wildly out of proportion to the vast majority, all the more reason to get started NOW.
